Under the GA underthe hood section they offer a PCM for the 2001 and 2003 V6 Aleros.
I emailed PFYC and asked about if they are offering this for all Aleros soon, I even metioned a possible group buy
I'll let you know what they say

OK here was the response from PFYC today
Hi Kenny:
I can update the page to offer you a 2000 Alero 3.4L selection if you
want - same price - just let me know.
Thanks.
And my response to that was:
Hello,
Yes that would be great, however There are a few guys on Aleromod that are interseted in these as well. Is it possible to get PCMs for other years as well? Also how long will shipping be from DHP itself?
Thanks a lot
Probably will have to wait until Monday for another response

Awesome work Ken, thanks for looking out for the rest of us bro !
**just curious** Is this a generic CAI and catback tune, or are they offering different options aswell?

im pretty sure the 1.0 file is good for just about every intake and exhaust mod, i.e. cai, P&P intakes, headers, cat back exhaust...its once you ge into timing issues that you need a more tuned chip i.e cam or boost.

what kinda timing differences would you need for nitrous..........i mean its not a constant boost like a SC, and not predictable like a turbo........so does it know that when it seems an extreme amount of air entering the maf that it knows to drop timing a little bit? not too sure how it works

I just was wondering mainly because what's good for some cars, wouldn't be best for all. For instance, if Ken and myself were both to get the same tune, then I'd assume that I'd see more of a gain than he would, like, because he has ALOT more mods done to his motor, he'd be leaving HP on the table, so-to speak? I was just wondering, y'know...I could be way wrong.
Above and beyond that, some of us might wanna leave the shift points @ the stock setting, but opt to have the governer removed. I do enjoy being able to shut my shift kit off for daily driving, as-opposed to having the altered DHP shift points all the time. ( I know Ken would go for the DHP shift points in this case mainly because HIS shift kit is in MY car, currently )
Just based on the shift point issue alone, that makes me wonder about if all the PCMs are the same, or if they are ordered individually with the specific customer in-mind.
Hope all my rambling on answers your question, green99.
No matter what, I'm definately interested in a PCM swap, so if it turns out that they're all the same, with the shift points altered, then I guess I'll just have to deal with it I guess.......( If/when this does indeed happen for me, anyone wanna buy Ken's old shift kit? ) :P

OK first off, I love yore sign YB. For the Chicks in "Do" and "F" the answer is yes
Anyway a 1.0 program is all the same. It will work in my car with a ton of mods and a stock one with no mods jsut the same. I don't really think that example is 100% correct about the HP. I'm not really looking for the HP anyway, it's the shift points that I love.
Spraying, timing, and major cam adjustments (physical) will require a custom tune. Intake, exhaust, and top half of the motor, in the eyes of a PCM, are minor mods.
I'm also going to push about the 2.4 twins and 2.2 ecos as well. They NEVER had a PCM ava to them

Just sent an email you PFYC about spec and my car and if the chip will work, but I added this
Also, when contacting DHP, can you ask if it's possible to make PCMs for 4 cyl models? I know a lot of guys on Aleromod, including our President, would be very happy

New repsone from PFYC
Hello Kenny:
The DHP PCM will not do any of those things. If DHP offers a PCM, it
will only be offered if it works 100% and not cause any issues with your
car.
The O2 sim will work fine with our PCM.
We will inquire with DHP as to what years and engines they can do a PCM
for and get our site updated with that information.
Thanks.

us 4cyl guys need something.
i would probably need a custom tune but oh well that would be fine.
what DHP needs to get a hold of is the GM reflash for boost and tweak that for the 4cyl guys. would be helpful for me down the road and a few others.

well cant yo ugo with a custom tune anyway?
i mean a custom tune from DHP would be the same price, or no?
but the custom tunes IMO would be good for us with the mods other than the intake and cat back. (off the shelf style)

A custom tune and the 1.0 tune are not the same price.
Last time I spoke with DHP they told me a powertuner was 399.99 and a custom tune was 299.99. This compared to the PFYC price of 215.00 for the 1.0 programmed module.

I have not heard of anything from DHP that is Version 2.0. The pre mapped PCMs they offer are 1.0 versions and then they offer custom tunes. The only possible thing I can think of is their PowrTuner. I was reading the tutorial and it talks about the firmware version and 2.0 but thats about it. On top of that for those people that have bought PowrTuners from DHP in the past they offer new binary codes that they deem version 1.5 .
The main site has not been revised in quite sometime but they have a private forum that I did not know about until I receieved a response back to an email. This site was revised as of April 2005 and seems to offer much more info than the regular site. Here is the link.
