Ok last questions

Hey people!

I know i've been digging on this subject but i've got just 2 more questions regarding the WAI.

I went to a big shop today. A guy who works there which seems pretty honest to me said they have 2 brands of filters: one is unknown, made in taiwan and has 2 years warranty. I saw it and it looks o.k.

The guy insisted and said its a good quality filter even tho its unkown. Now the second option is a k&n filter which he has to order from u.s.a and thats gonna cost me TWICE than the first one. the guy insisted and said that he thinks the only difference in those filters is their price.

So what should i do? It's just that i dont know if i can trust it, and I do care about the filter i'm getting coz a bad filter can harm my engine's health. So what do u think? should i order the k&n which costs a lot down here?

Second thing is, he want's to plug the filter to the original pipeline going from the stock airbox to the engine, without adding an extra alluminium pipe.

So is it ok?

Thanx and sorry if thats annoying

Don't apologize....that's why we are here to discuss Aleros and help each other.

As far as my opinion K&N is a well known good reusable filter whereas I am not sure what the other filter is made of. It's up to you really. I have reused a cheaper filter before and had no problems.

Or you could just pay pal somebody over here in the states to get you a K&N and you would pay "actual" costs for everything, rather than imported costs plus mark-ups.

Just get the no-name.. some people even just put screen mesh over their intake hole (I wouldn't recommend that little of filtration) it's not like it's going to blow up your engine between these two, a filter's a filter.

I've been hearing from alot of people that the oil on the K&N filters is bad for our mass airflow sensors, I've been using the cheap one that came with my CAI with no problems, All I did was wash it with the hose once and that cleaned it out.
