Powersteering Delete
Anybody completely remove there power steering system and fit a manual rack in? I've also heard of people just looping the line back to the steering rack and leaving the fluid in. Was wondering if anyone has had experience with this.

Cameron you definitely dont want to pull your PS. Had the pump go out twice on my old LD9, even that 4 cyl was impossible to turn...

Yup I agree with Jawa and Ttop.. I had my PS pump leaking badly before it was replaced and it would run out of fluid quickly and the damn thing was a total bitch to steer without fluid. You really don't want to delete it.
Why do you want to delete your power steering though?

Where are you planning on getting a manual or electric rack that you can substitute?

the one redog posted is also 30$ cheaper then milzys. but in order to make a difference dont you need to not run the pulley for you to actually get that small gain, and use a smaller serp?

Pump is going out don't have money to replace it and would rather save money to get my z going. I've driven cars with it removed and right now it gives more resistance than most manual rack cars I've driven.

Seriously? Pumps for the alero are dirt cheap, like $40.......just replace it, or snag one from a junk yard for $10

Yeah I mean how much are you going to spend to get less features and horsepower the equivalent of a SS sticker across the hood

So your reason is because your doing a full tuck? Sounds stupider.....just sayin That power steering is really taking up a lot of space huh?
