My first kit was like $400.... lol.
I paid like $120 for my Sonata's kit from xenonsupply.com and $45 for my wife's Santa Fe kit from HIDExtra.com. You get a much higher quality kit with xenonsupply. You get Phillips patent bulbs, which are much better. The wiring is so much better on the Xenonsupply kit also.
The biggest difference is color. My Xenonsupply kit is their 6000k kit. The color is very bright white with just a little hint of blue. The HIDExtra kit is also 6000k but it is very blue. Too blue in my opinion. It looks cool, but not factory.
In my opinion, I think the extra money is worth it if the kit is good quality. DDM seems to be pretty mixed. A lot of people had great luck with them, but a lot of people also had problems. HIDExtra gets pretty solid reviews, and their customer service is pretty good. Xenonsupply has fantastic customer support, as they answered any questions I fired at them in an hour or 2. The Sonata is a little tricky because the way the projector is desgned, if you put a regular H7 HID bulb, the return on the bulb casts a shadow in your beam pattern. If you flip the bulb around, and notch out the opposite side of the h7 base, the beam pattern is perfect. Xenonsupply ships a kit made specifically modded to fit the Sonata. Couldn't have been better.

I definitely agree that it seems that you get what you pay for. I have no issues at all with the original kit I purchased (same one as Naich, as far as I know) except one bulb died, but it was several years old. The ones from Richie are top-notch too. I have 2 sets of those.

I was going to order the same HIDs. can someone tell me the point of the "dual in, dual out" and "type 3" listed on their website?
Here's the link:

I think dual in dual out is for both high and low beams.... Not 100% sure on that though... I just got the regular kit, and it works just fine.

dual in and dual out is supose to mean a better quality ballast but that is always debateable most HID kits out there now are dual in and dual out rarely is it single as the first hid kits were single

If you buying hids i recommend the slim ballast. I have the raptor kit and i got huge ballasts. I didnt get the mounting brackets which i thought were included so i had some problems with it. The left ballast would spark when it hit metal under my hood and it wouldnt shine as bright. So i wrapped it in plastic and its all good. But defff get the mounting brackets if your getting the raptor kit. Other than that. $50 for super sweeettt headlights is such a great deal.

I could be wrong, but isn't it a bad idea to put HID's in a halogen projector? I feel like it would scatter a lot of light and blind other drivers.
I was thinking about getting a full retro fit on mine, but it just costs a lot of money!

Technically, yes it is illegal, but everyone is doing it, so join the party! I would love to do a projector retrofit, but its a PITA. Luckily we can adjust our headlights fairly easily.

Shipping went up on there because I believe they now only ship from China... They ship them out from there individually because their large shipments to their shop would get taken once it arrived in the USA. Something about them being illegal and all
