cheap belts can squeel... what kind did you put on? you need a poly cog or gatorback for the best results

I had my serpertine belt changed in another vehicle I owned and it started to squeak also. They told me I could live with the squeal or use some belt spray, I forgot what the actual name of the spray is. Anyways it turned out to be the tensioner...don't know if I spelled that right.

your tensioner is bad its holdingthe belt to tight.
tensioners arent that expensive. maby 30 bucks and easy to change. one bolt.. remeber how you loosened the tensioner to release the belt? well loosen that all the way and its off, bolt new one.

i have this probelm too. I had a gator back on it and then i put a acdelco and both squeak. But after the car warms a bit the squeak goes away. Is this still a shotty tensioner?

i didnt loosen the tensioner to put my belt on, i released the pressure using a ratchet at the pivot point like you're supposed to

yea, opposite of the mounting bolt there is a square hole. you stick a ratchet in there and apply pressure, it takes tension off of the belt.
