Need advice on sub box build

Not really a sub box, but it falls in those lines.

I'm redoing on air horn and I'm going to be wrapping the base in trunk carpet. I picked up a piece from a 2003 Caddie at the junkyard. It was on the trunk lid, but it was the only GM trunk carpet I could find that wasn't soaked and the trunk wasn't opened.

Anywaywhat is the best way to wrap the carpet around the corners of the wood base? I was just going to strech it and staple it down with an industral staple tack hammer. I'm only doing one side of the wood

I'm at work and the wood's at home.

Anyway the wood is 16" wide and 18" long and 15/16" thick

It's just one piece of wood

oh

Well lay the board flat on the carpet from the back side. Trace out the board with a sharpie. Next make some 45 degree triangles off the corners of the board. So when you cut and fold the fabric back the seam will be on a 45 angle @ the corners.

I would use some contact cement and brush it on liberal- or 3M Super 77 spray glue (again liberal). Then fold the corners back and use a standard staple gun to affix them.
