Will these sound good

So all but 1 of my speakers have gone to hell and I am not a big subs person, so I am thinking of wiring these up, my major concern is just having the 6.5s in the back, will they make enough bass to sound nice up front?

Polk 6.5 components, subs in back with tweeters up front

Polk 4x6

6.5s would be powered with an 80watt 2 channel amp

Well do what you need to for the fronts.

I would suggest a nice or even cheaper comp setup in the 5.25" size to make installing easier.

For the rears these would be awesome:

Feeding them 80 WRMS will be fairly ideal. Just use a LPF (low Pass Filter).

i was looking at those 6x9 subs a while back, i like the idea but don't like the idea that they won't just drop in. my other thought was those clarion component 6x9s for the back.
i just don't don't want to install 5.25's up front if its a pain in the ass.

Interesting.. I didn't know anyone still made something like that. I have a similar driver made by kicker in my Beretta and I'm definitely satisfied with the performance. Those didn't have the strange shape though.

So i decided what I am going to do...
Sails: Polk db1001 Tweeters
Front Doors: Polk db461p 4x6s
Rear Deck: Tang Band W69-1436 6x9 woofers... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=264-864
Amp for the 6x9s: Rockford Fosgate Punch P325.2 (2 channel 80 WRMS)

Excludding installation costs, it will be like $350. I think it will sound good and is a good price.

Well I do have a set of 5.25" fiberglassed brackets for the font. Takes 3 self drilling/tapping sheet metal scews and they are in.

otherwise they have adapter plates on E Bay.

You wont be happy with 4x6 or 4x6 plates and thats the bottom line. Trust me. They wont be loud enough...

I think the 6x9 subs are a good idea for anyone wanting a little thump without a box in the trunk. For awhile there you could get a pair on sale for like $55... If your not in a hurry I would monitor the site for a sale.

Gotta agree with Ryan on the 4x6"s... They don't get real loud and you'd be much happier with the 5.25"s, especially if you decide to go with components.
