Hey everyone,

My 99 Alero with 77,000 miles on it is making the old hinge on door typing groan as I make turns left and right off the front end. It appears that I can hear it in the car but not while out of the car. Any recommendations. The dealer says shocks and struts are fine which I dont believe is true. Also when my back right tire hits a speed bump, you hear this loud sqeak type sound...any help there???

Thanks, and I really do appreciate any feedback!

I have the same sound coming from the back drivers side. Just sounds like the springs creaking. I have intraxx lowering springs. Doesnt seem like a problem though.

I have the same problem with my rear passenger side....I can definetely tell its either the shock or strut that needs replaced, but it will have to wait until weather gets better to be fixed <_< another $100 down the drain for pointless GM crap replacement **prays he can talk the dealer into GM performance parts to replace stock crap** (realistically knows wont happen)

its not the strut....its the hub that needs replacing i think or jsut needs to be lubbed....mine was squeaking, and my shop gave it some wd-40, and it cleared up in a week or so

Stabilizer Bar Bushings will do this. Get under the car & spray the bushings with Lithium grease or replace with Polyurethane Bushings.

Jason
