actually i have before.....dont do it........the only way to go if you do are the kind that come stock (which no alero does)....or the VERY expensive aftermarkets that go in the actual glass on the mirror and not glued to the plastic on the outside

our mirrors are so small as it is. (shut up richie...lol) making that space smaller is kinda dangerous.

me and a few of the other lighting guys were kicking around the idea of how to mount several yellow led's BEHIND the mirror. so when your turning signal blinked, the edges around the mirror would blink.
it wouldn't be that hard.... besides the fact that you can't take off/get behind the driver's side mirror w/o cutting it, in some manner. So that was one of the "we'll just let this idea go" kinda situations..

^its not feasibly possible for the degree of work it requires.... which is why you don't see a "how to" for it... lol

the mirrors DO come off BTW. They pop right off of the motor assembly. i see no problem in mounting LED's in there, besides wiring it up

they are alternating amber and red LEDs.....basically every other LED is red or amber. you can see it in the second picture. They are wired separately, so you can have just the amber ones one for use and the red were used for show.

I think he meant on the mirror itself, not the mirror housing. Like this:

Yeah I made them awhile back. I think I have everything except for the actual glass. Got a little carried away when I took them apart. lol
I have another style that I made for my own car, so I'd be willing to part with these if anyone wants them for a decent price.
They are the shells for a manual mirror. The glass for the power ones are a different size. I might be able to do these for others if they are interested in sending their mirrors.

yeah.. the way i was talking about would be to mount the led's FACING the back of the mirror... from the inside. so when they blink, all you see is yellow coming out from around the edges of the mirror.
and both my mirrors are power.... is it possible to take them apart without destorying something?

yeah, I had no problem with mine, which are power. You have to take the glass out first, then you can get to the screws that hold the mount in. They are held in with some epoxy type glue. Just be careful or you will break the glass.

I think you could do it. I understand cherington and think if it was done right it would be sweet. Mental note for an interesting mod in the future. Nice mirror Anderbra.
