i dont remember what its called, but it is a dealer only part and is very pricy at the 3 dealers i asked about. Its only purpose is to cover that vally in the window, nothing else, if you really want to replace it find one at a junkyard and save some money.

the black plastic part that covers up the edge of the windshield? should be about $12 each. I had to replace my passenger side one twice. 3 screws.

If you're talking about the hard plastic/rubber piece that runs along the side of the windshield and the A-pillar--does that thing serve any purpose other than aesthetics? That piece on mine came loose sometime in 2007 and came off completely in early 2010. 1.5 years later, no leaks, so it can't be a water barrier. It's a little ugly but considering the condition of the clearcoat, I'm not worried about it. Unless it served some purpose that I haven't noticed the loss of.

The drivers side piece started to come off but I siliconed it in last year. Yesterday oin the thruway it came lose again and was flopping around as I was driving.
I hot glued it in this time n it seems to be holding nicely so far but only time will tell.
If it fils this time I'll try to use some rubber type cement more like the origianl glue used.
BTW I didn't see any screws holding it in. It seems to be a slot type snap-in affair with some glue to hold it in.

It is supposed to be held in by 3 screws. I just removed one from a car in a salvage yard yesterday.
