lol hey let the flaming begin but I bought a chip from slr motorsports last week and I swear on the bible I felt a difference. shifts are firmer, rpm's are lower at highway and rural speeds and more power throughout the entire rpm range. simply put: car struggled to turn the tires before and now it does it with no problem.

UNless im missing somthing here, your rpms should turn the same amount at any highway speed unlesss the aleros are a variable gear ration transmission, which oimpretty sure it is not. I know the final drive should not be changed through a computer chip unless i missed something back when i owned mine.

yeah, no shit you felt a little more power. Simple chip modifies the intake air temp (IAT) signal to trick the computer into thinking it's colder, which the PCM translates into "need more fuel". Which is why I fail to see how it improves MPG.

Ugh I hate those things.

If anybody wants to really try this, go to radio shack and buy a 330k resistor for 10 cents. That's pretty much all this is, in fact that's hat they were before they started putting the "box" around it to make it look better

No.

No. IAT is not used for VE adjustments. It's used for spark, and it only subtracts spark (and only when IAT is very hot).

Here's a fun thread about IAT resistors: http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.ph...0&t=439975&p=1

My favorite part:

"Our customer support staff is here 24/7 to help"

I'm gonna call them at 3 am and ask if putting 3 of these in series will give me 900 hp.... lol
