3400 Cold Air Intake
Hey everyone, new member here. Learning the wraps about my car, and a great site. I was wondering if people could upload some pictures on here of their cold air intake setup. I need pictures of cold air intakes that run into the fenderwell. Would prefer pictures looking down on the setup and pictures from the front bumper. Thanks everyone! I was also wondering what apperance mods I could do to my Alero for nothing.

don't have a CAI but for appearance mods you could clear your corners.

Ok, I have seen some of the mods like clear corners, ac knobs, and door trim. Do you have any more ideas? Everyone else, pics of their intakes please.

that is a heat shield for the intake. They "guarantee" that it still gets the same air flow as a regular cone filter. The way the air flows through the bumper it shouldnt really affect the air flow. Any other suggestions on that?

I oredered one off of ebay that includes a heat shield filter and they seem like they will keep alot of wate out. Besides, I think the only chance of you getting water in the intake is if you drive through a foot of water. Hopefully the setup on my heat shield wont affect airflow. My GL doesnt have fog lights so more air will be able to flow through the fenderwell which is great for me.

i retro fitted my intake so the filter (inverted top cone) sits right behind the fog light, parallel to the ground and not perpendicular.

it looks to me like the intake setup is close to like a 10 degree angle so i don't think it should be a real problem. What do you think?

Go to Lowe's or another Home Depot like store. Grommets are in the aisle with the screws and such.

ok so i just spent 2 freakin hours today trying to get the stock intake tubing out. When i finally pulled the intake piping out, I was soo happy after all the pain in the ass screws were taken out. New cars are such a pain to work on. Anways, when I took the intake piping out i noticed a metal braket behind the washer fluid tank that the old intake was connected to. I can't even see where the damn thing is hooked to and how many stupid screws I have to take out and where they all are located. I really dont want to take the plastic fenderwell panel off because the fenderwell is held in by a bunch of plastic crap screws that break when you try to take them off!!! I am getting to the point where I am just gona take a sledgehammer to the car. Can someone please give me some input before I go crazy over this intake!
