the reflash will cost you an extra $80-$100 for the dealer to do it.
So total cost for the whole setup is under $2500 if you install it.

You should mention that this will only work on the '00 and up 2.4L equipped Aleros. The '99 won't work with it properly; the starter is bigger and gets in the way of the supercharger, some have an EGR valve that the newer years don't have and the PCM is different meaning the flash won't work on it. It also will not work on the ECOTEC engine or the 3400 V6, in case anyone was wondering.

actually most of the 99's have the smaller starter and no egr. However they can not be reflashed, so you just need to do your own fuel mods to compensate for the added air.
this post from j-body.org is a good resource for any pre 2k cars wanting to go the gm s/c route.

So does anybody actually have it installed? Is there a noticeable difference? I am looking to get one, just would hate to get all said and done and have it not make a difference.

Yes the pully size matters. Im not sure what all the specs are but I know the smaller pully is better depending on the application.

there's a lot more information about this supercharger on www.j-body.org. the main idea behind the gmpp supercharger is that it is RELIABLE. this means you aren't going to need to change out your internals before installing it. it also means that gm will service the part. if you go turbo, you may have to change the internals to handle the boost. as far as numbers, it depends entirely on what supporting mods you have. i've heard numbers from 205 HP to 220 HP. most people don't JUST install the supercharger. most upgrade the exhaust, maybe cams, intake....

Yes it basically makes your alero comparable to cobalt ss and it looks nice. I will have to repost pics.

hell of a deal even at 40hp gain, without the labor install, thats only $37 for 1hp, which is a steal compared to some mods where that can be $100+ per 1hp for some mods

plus, there's a guy on j-body.org that will reflash your ecu with a better tune than the gm one. he also removes the speed limiter and throws in a few other goodies. all for 180 shipped.
