Any Decent 'blue' Headlight Bulbs

Well I really want blue headlights, but dont want to spend $500 for HIDs. I currently have silverstars but really want the blue look. Are xenons a good option or will they fry my headlights? Lemme know...

None of them that look really good will last. At least not in my experience. Those phillips bulbs might be more blue than silverstars, but i'm not sure.

huh? phillips = zero blue. they are way brighter than silverstars, BECAUSE blue robs light output... i'm not sure how many times i'm going to have to type that.

i would check out PIAA if you already have silverstars, otherwise your only other option is a harness burning cheapy.

Thats why i said i wasn't sure. I havn't tried them personally, so as far as i know, they could be more blue. I havn't seen them (and no one else on here has either becides you) so should we believe you just because you say so? Once someone else verifies their brightness, then fine. But around here, a lot more ppl have silverstars, and pretty much everyone agrees that they are very good, and you seem to be the only one knocking them. I'm going to try those other bulbs eventually too. Don't get pissed off at people because the product you are pushing is largely untested.

i'm not knocking silverstars... i loved mine till one burnt out and i didnt want to pay 40 for a new pair... i did some reading online and "settled" for something cheaper, i plugged them in and was amazed.

and i'm not the only one, i think mike2002 has some expirience with them too?

i'm not pissed at anyone, it just seems like people try and give the wrong information.

i could easily go take a picture, but different cameras and different situations/settings show different results, and it's not something you can compare, we've all seen that in previous flame wars with pictures.


i'm just saying, if he wants blue, buying the phillips would be highly disappointing.

My friend has some really blue bulbs in his beretta, I wanna say there silverstars but I am not sure.

i found some japanese bulbs online for like 25 dollars with free shipping from a website whose link i dont have any longer, they are blue and nice

if i can find the box somewhere ill post again

heres where i got my bulbs, i have the nokya blue headlights, havent had a single porblem with them at all, although i did replace the wireing harness's just for sakety, and i believe they come in 55 watt and 80 watt, i have the 80 watts.

an 80 watt bulb will burn out your harnesses after a while.

So i went out to my car to look to see what the brand was of my bulbs, then decided to go for a little drive cuz i put my intake in today....and then I GOT PULLED OVER FOR TINTS

needless to say, im not telling you what kind of bulbs they are
but they are nice and you would love them

If you want the blue bulbs, you're most likely going to have to replace the stock harnesses with high temp harnesses. I learned that the hard way <_< and replacing them isnt really all that hard. I use MTEC 4X bulbs with high temp harnesses and they've lasted me more than a year now. they put out bright white light with that nice blueish tint you're looking for.

you can get the hids for a little over 300 on ebay.....

......and i heard from a little birdie that Piaa's are too much wattage for our car....was that little birdie right?! :unsure:

another wattage thing...when shopping for bulbs...how do u kno what to look for? i kno with piaa its 9006. but if the wattage is listed and thats it....65/55W...does that mean they'll work?!
like what exactly kinda watage am i looking for? like what if its higher then 65/55W...what is its like 100/55W....HELP!!!!! cuz im buying my new bulbs on thursday :S

the piaa shown is 9007 which i believe has brights built into one bulb, so it would be 65 brights, 55 dims, and judging from that, the 9005 would be 55, and 9006 would be 65 (which is correct wattage right?) i'd ask to be sure before purchasing though.

personally, here in NY, i'd rather have really bright whites then blue. we get ticket very quickly for blue. not to mention all the damn deer they play chicken w/ ya around here. the brighter headlights seem to catch their attention sooner.

but hid's are still way to much for me to spend on just lights.....

How white are your the silverstars?

You can't have too blue lights, legally.

I have toucan industry headlights (high and lows) as well as foglights...... they look really good, i will try to get a pic tonight if i remember
