Wheel Hub going?

OK I hear this weird clicking sound and it varys from time to time and at different speeds. Goes away when I apply the brakes at any speed.

Cruising today at 60 MPH (top speed of the day) and it's loud, very loud. At lower speeds it's not that bad, but still makes noise. Does it from 10-15, but not 15-40. Does it at 40, but stops at 45 only to start again around 55 and 60 it's loud. Downshifted the trans while cruising and the sound stayed the same pace, so I'm convinced it's not engine or trans related.

No dash lights, waiting until that happens before replacing. Going to tackle the job myself.

I get to buy a 36mm socket

BUT it stops at ANY speed when you apply the brakes? if thats the case id say brake related. wheel bearings make a "growling" noise.

Caliper bracket pad slide thingy. Those stupid metal clips that I completely removed after endlessly having clicking issues with them touching my brake rotor.

For sure not the hub if braking stops it. I just changed both hubs in the past year.

OK I'll have to take them apart and check it out. What do I use to stop the horrible squeaking when I push the pedal.

Those of you at ASS know what I'm talking about

I wasn't at ASS so I don't know what squeaking you're talking about, but if it's coming from the calipers, it could be from those clips too. Get a caliper hardware kit that has those in it and a little packet of brake grease to put between them and the pads and that should solve your problems.

GM dealer has the caliper lube you are looking for. Small clear bottle with red lube in it. There is enough to do both calipers in the bottle. You need to pull back the piston seal a little, put half in there, noise gone bud. Dont be surprised when you see the bottle is only 1/4 full, it's all they put in the bottle. You won't need more than that anyway
