Noob from West KY
So i have had my 2000 Black 4 doord V6 Alero for about a year and a half and at times loved it and at other times wanted to drive it off a cliff. I have shortened wires, blown fuses, screwed up my courtesy lights, and after doing all these mistakes i have learned i know nothing about cars.
The last few months i found this site and have made some improvement to my car while reading the threads on here. After much work to my car i think its finally a respectable enough alero to share with the world. I will have pics of it pretty soon.
Here is a list of the few mods I have made
New Head unit 6.2 dvd/cd player double din
12'' Lanzar Optidrive Sub with Lanzar 1000 Wyatt amp
Partial Interior Painted
New Dash Lights
New automatic shift knob
Blue Shift Lights
New front bumper
Problems I have had and fix
No dash lights due to screwin with the orange wire (bought the white gauges)
crappy system (less crappy system)
horrible head unit (nice head unit)
Damage front bumper (nice junk yard bumper)
Dash peeling (super glue)
Every window has messed up
hazard switch replaced
Problems Currently have
Lights only come on automatic cant control it manually
lock switch doesnt work
trunk release button doesnt work
(guessing its a relay or something)
Future mods
Clear Corners
Get dims to come on with brights
Sorry at work but i will post some pictures sometime today or later this week. I already know most of you so thought i should introduce myself

Welcome and the lights coming on automatically isn't a problem that's how our cars we're built. My friend had a lumina and pulled a fuse so they wouldn't turn on automatically and it worked you could try it on the Alero but I'm not for sure.
