Don't get the detachable faced double din like I did... I had to chop up my faceplate to squeeze it in there.

Thanks yeah I got the Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS DD that is motorized so that should be interesting to see how much chopping has to be done.

They work awesome unless you're an idiot like me and you wire them into your brake lights... They worked great for months then my brake light fuse kept blowing. I need to rewrite them on the passenger side, so they are disconnected for now.

Thanks! I love them! Other than my in glass led turn signals that is probably my second favorite mod I've done and it was cheap too! PM me and I will get you the contact info of the guy I got them from. I keep meaning to post up a group buy for them.

I have the avh5500bhs. I had 2 options. Cut inside my dash so the unit would fit further in or cut my bezel. I chose to cut my bezel. at this point i would have gone the other way as I cracked the top of it. Lesson learned. I have a new bezel on order. So I would say just cut as much of the support you need to till it fits back into the dash.

I had to cut a lot of the plastic mounts inside the dash to get the deck to flush-mount. But it was worth it.

I'm looking into putting the new Pioneer AVH-X3600BHS in my 04' Alero but cruchfield says it doesn't fit; it's says the pioneer radio shown above doesn't fit either. They said it was a depth issue and the dash would need modification. Do I need to do anything special to make it work right or is cruchfield over thinking this?

You have to cut shit out of the back. Then it will fit.

I had to cut the shit outta the plastic behind the stereo to fit my single din Pioneer. Doesn't seem to hurt anything.
