yet another mod
Did a little mod last night, got a set of needles from a 98 passat and they fit my aleros guage cluster quite nicely

If you put it to key on, engine off those lights all come on. oil cause there's no oil pressure(obviously), and SES because of no oil pressure.

yea i just turned the key to the on position so the dash lights would come on ( i modded the dash lights to come on with the key because thire hard to see with my dark tint) but the ses light is aways on when the car is running its the rear o2 sensor, just havent fixed that yet.

this is what i got. took them out of a 2000 something cougar. idk why the spedo floats at 15 mph but it zeros out with key on and they all work (and yes the speedo does read correctly when driving)

i was gunna go with the couger ones but found the passat ones and i thing they look a but nicer,
you have needle float because of the counter weights in the needles wernt designed for the aleros cluster, i have a simular issue with my tach. when i hit a bump the needle will dip 4 or 5 hundred rpm then go back to normal

kinda figured thats what it was. weird mine dont do that at all.

its only my tach that does it im thinkn weaker moter then the speedo or sumthn

not trying to be weird by reviving an old thread but how did u get it to where the light is not showing threw the gas and temp needles since the black peice is smaller and light shows threw
