95 mph.
Meh. 15.0 @ 95 MPH was all I could do today, made 2 passes. FML.
60ft: 2.28
330ft: 6.40
1/8 MPH: 73.5
1/4 ET: 15.08
1/4 MPH: 95.0
60ft: 2.76
330ft: 7.52
1/8 MPH: 70.62
1/4 ET: 16.53
1/4 MPH: 91.3 (guy next to me had 14.7 @ 91.3)
Excuses
- Meth tank was way too low to race with, everything sloshed back and got air in the lines and it wouldn't inject. Temps skyrocketed, knock occured. (Contrary to last nights ridiculous highway pulls during tuning)
- No traction. Not at all.
Coming Soon
- BFG Drag Radials
- MP62 supercharger
- full meth tank

How bad did you spin?
15 flat and 95 MPH seems way off. My 14.5 only turned out a 92

'Course. Trying to find some locally cheap.
How bad did I spin? Very bad. It's been a while since I've launched ('07) and I only had a couple runs to try different things, place was busy. I'm going again this week.

Your 60' is way off!!
My Alero does 60' at about the same time as yours on a bad day. It's cut a few 2.09 60's
The other 60', well the Delta was running 20.50 and cutting almost the same 60' in that second run.
What are you launching at? What convertor do you have? could it be possible your launching above your stall?
How heavy of a burnout are you doing? Too much will heat the trans too much. I would suggest getting a tranny cooler with a thermostat and fan. Running the tranny too cool does as much damage as too hot

Making pretty good power for the first time out; no traction can only mean better things to come. Have patience.

You need to put your wing back on, for downforce.

What pressure are you running in the tires?
You can also try putting some of those rubber blocks in your rear springs to stiffen it up a bit to minimize the rearward weight transfer.

I think I could run those 60' times on foot!
Stop mashing the pedal to the floor. Especially on street tires, you'll need to feed in the throttle. Tires don't hook up on a drag strip like they do on a street.
This is just one reason I'm not real fond of superchargers. Instant wheel spin FTL
A 95mph trap speed on a bad run definitely has potential though. You'll get there

Exactly. One of my runs I went from the stall launch to directly 100% throttle, the other one I still put too much throttle down instantly. I didn't have enough runs or time to get it right, and with methanol not working my tune was off and knocking. Temps were between 120-170 during my last run and 12.5 AFR with some decent knock instead of being 70-120 and 11.6 AFR with methanol working.

1800, the correct stall for my torque converter, however, as said, I went from the stall to 100% throttle instantly instead of easing it on just at the right amount to maximize traction and power delivery. I have not practiced launching at all.

I only did one burnout for my last run, just a quick blip, you'll see in the video when I get home later on. They're street tires, so you're not supposed to try to heat them up that much, just clear the dirt.
I have a transmission cooler. (Not hooked up though yet haha) but my transmission temps were perfectly acceptable throughout the day.

No doubt.

Who knows, wasn't enough runs to make to try different things, I just ran like it was, 30psi I believe. I still have stock springs, putting Eibachs on very soon. Good idea on the rubber blocks, still.
Again, I wasn't even going to post this. Conditions were not ideal, I did not run at all what I can run. I know what I need to do. Picking up some new BFG drag radials this week most likely too.

I always wondered, since wings are used for downforce, and the alero is a front wheel drive car, why has no one ever put the wing on the front of the hood????

It was a supposed low 13 second Volvo, he ran high 15s and 16s.
Buying BFG Drag Radials tomorrow off a guy and mounting them on 15s. Also mixing some more methanol and filling up the tank and tuning more aggressively. Going to a different track on Saturday.
The MP62 should be on excruciatingly soon... but it is possible that I will also switch to a turbocharger. Depends on how cash flow works out.

Play with that launch speed a bit. I get a better 1/4 time with my RPMs at 1000 and I floor it right away.
Burnout you did, or lack there of, sounds decent
