Dyno Run Results

I think my results can be even better, the car kept shifting in either 2 or 3 so Im not sure how that effected results. I also have a reducer pipe that leads from the cat to the slp piping. Im losing a few horses there. So eliminating this and getting the pcm replaced should help out a lot. Overall Im pretty happy with the results. Ill post the results tomorrow when I can get to a scanner.

First pull I hit 157.1 to the wheels
Second pull I hit 158.2.

I got this done at http://www.johnhaleymotorsports.com/. I didnt realize it at the time but he is a NHRA drag racer and has won an event as well. I think he ran the 1/4 at 5.47.

I asked him what he thought I was doing at the crank and he figured above 225. I figure its around there + or - 10hp.

There is no bunnying way in hell that your car has a 40% drivetrain loss.... 160HP * 1.4 (40%) = 224HP... with the standard 15% drivetrain loss, 160 * 1.15 = 184HP... that sounds about right.. sorry to rip on an NHRA drag racer but that's ridiclious..

yeah that seemed a little high to me as well. I though I had heard the drive train loss was closer to 20% but I have no idea how they calculate that. Im actually more interested in the torque numbers. Unfortunate the torque is not listed on the graph. Ill have to call and see if his computer has that info. Between the reducer and running lean I think I could get better numbers but I probably wont redyno untill the next major mods are done.

If the car's an automatic you CAN have as much as 40% loss - many are just not that efficient as they're set up for comfort (quiet smoot shfts) instead of power (hard and fast shifts). That's why man invented shift kits - to eliminate some of the inefficiencies that mftrs build into the autos. Sticks are naturally more efficient and kill less HP from the flywheel to the tires. Plus his exhaust and other mods might not be 100% perfect, adding to the loss.

shift kits don't transfer more power to the wheels, either... they just shift faster (and harder) than stock

Not even automatics lose 40% of their power... if that were the case then a 5-speed 2.4 TC would smoke the 3.4 automatic

Not even dodge tranny's lose that much %, I believe the alero has the 4t60e right? your loss will be around 17-18%. just my .02

sorry but because of engine elec. static torque would not pull up on your runs.

3.4's pretty much always produce higher torque numbers than HP numbers, so yours is probably peaking in the mid-high 160 ft-lb range... if it really matters to you

When I had a Z34 97Z (215hp stock) with an intake I put down 179.7 hp so if thats any indicator so your crank hp should be around 189- 190 hp. Not to bad!

I really think my numbers could be quite higher. There are several things I need to fix. In retrospec I think I would have been much happier with a number around 170+.

Wont be till spring till I get back but by then my internals will have been changed.
