Hey Guys! I would love some insight from your wise minds on this one.

I'm a bit concerned as this only started a few days after I had my car towed and some repairs done.

The weather has gotten in the minus the last few days and I have had some trouble starting. When I flip over the ignition it seems to lag and has failed but will eventually start, but even when the car is warm it was doing this the first night. Sometimes it will start without issue other times it hesitates and won't start.. normally the second shot it will go but I noticed my clock will reset to 12:00 so I know the power is disconnecting to the stereo.

I boosted my car at the shop after I repaired my damage, and boosted a few friends in the past few weeks. I'm hoping it's just in need of a battery, but am worried it could be my alt as it has trouble even after it has been on very cold nights. any wisdom would be great..

hard starts can be the battery or cable connections, and battery problems can come from a bad alt

so obviously, try a new battery, have the charging system tested even if it's at autozone, or get a multimeter/voltmeter and test the voltage while it idles and when you give it gas

not to mention Alero's and Grand AM's and N-Bodies in general have a SUPER long crank time for it to start compared to other vehicles.........I am an installer at Best Buy and when doing remote starts we have to program the remote start for about a 1.0 or 1.2 second crank on the N-Bodies whereas most cars are a 0.6 or 0.8 second crank
