I am looking at the LED underbody kit for my car. I have a Gold series neon kit that i can take off of my eclipse and put on the alero but I am wondering how the brightness of the LED's stands up to the brightness of Street Glow gold series neons. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Ok heres the break down of led compared to neon.

Neon tubes basicly give you more general light, but yet they wont go as far outside the car as an led it because the led's are a projection lens. They distribute light in a path and not genereal. So really its personal preference, but a thing the leds will give ya is you can do patterns and whatnot also on top of having the color.

another thing though...if you just want the lights to be under your car and not 8 feet out...go with the reg. old neons...its just that the led's, like silent said, have better projection outwards.

i disagree. i believe it has to do with the kit u choose.

if u get one of the cheaper led kits..... they dont glow that far outside of the car.... infact i think regular neons project farther outward then the cheaper led.

silent had a rather expensive led kit which entailed more leds in the tubes and more light....... the cheaper ones dont shine out so far.

I'm impressed sweet....no yelling or name calling in this reply...thanks....but yeah...if you go with liteglow like i did with my first underbody set, its a waste of time and money...i spent $150 for them plus 40 extra dollars a tube stopped working which happened 3 times. The biggest dissapointment yet was that they prolly only shined out a good foot...i wasted that money...sold them for about half that, and then went out and bought my streetglow set i have on my car now. I'm very happy with the set I have now and none of the tubes have stopped working. My advise would be shop around and see what you like on your car.

One thing also is that the further that they point out the more dispersion so the light does not look as bright but if the leds dont have enough distant than it will look like a bunch of lights under your car intead of one beam. And silent did you go iceled 2million color kit or just the 8 color kit.
