How bout this punch for the Kappas?

The Infinity Kappa 692.9i 2-Way 6" x 9" is 110/330... also what's the difference between these two ways and a kappa 3 way?

With the 3 way, you get another tweeter.

To answer your other question, the punch amp would work great for the two kappas, they will get loud and sound great. It would almost be easier in your case to just buy one bigger amp for all of your speakers rather than having multiple runs of power and grounds along with fuses and distribution blocks.

Yeah thought about that but didn't see anything that caught my eye. I did see Polk DB691's on sale for $75 so Now I' am debating those over the Infinity Kappa 6929i for $86 not really sure what the differance would be besides the extra tweet for the Polks. I have heard alot of good things about the Kappas though.

Negolien, it's not as simple as extra tweeters... Yes 3 ways means a mid range and 2 tweeters, but that's it's more complex than that. The more "ways" the speaker has, the more that the frequency range is split. For example, in a normal 2 way speaker or component speaker, the midrange handles the lowest frequency range the speaker was built to handle while the tweeter handles the higher frequency range. What this equates to is simply more clarity in your highs since each range is split. In a 3 way, there's usually a normal tweeter and a smaller tweeter that handles the frequencies we can barely hear like 17K-20K. It is said the average human can hear between 30 and 16,000 hertz.

Here's a picture you'll find interesting.

As far as the amp, why not go for a 4 channel at that price point? For $250, you could easily get a 4 channel. You don't necessarily have to use all 4 channels on a 4 channel amp. You can bridge them or only use 2 or 3. It doesn't really matter. Each channel is capped.

This is the Alpine MRX-F65. It's 100 watts per channel @4 ohms.

Also, instead of Crutchfield, check Sonic Electronix. It's the same thing as Crutchfield, except it's cheaper and based in your state of California.

Here's the Crutchfield link if you want it

If you like Pioneer, here's a Pioneer amp that puts out 100 watts x 4 channels as well.

Thanks Apprecaite the links and graph. Still think a Kappa 3 way would be better than the DB 3 way? I tried to get amps that would match the wattage as close as possible. So the 4x6's max were 150 and the 6x9's would be 300. That said could't find a 4 way that would do that. I didn't however do much looking in the 4 way to bridge department. How do I find out what the ohms and min max power rating is using a 4 way that way.

Well, where's the link to the DB?

Max wattage doesn't really mean much though. That's just if the speaker needs a good amount of power to create bass. Unless your playlist consists of heavy bass music, the important number is the RMS, and you want the RMS to be at exact or a tad higher (about 50 watts or so) because that's your constant power. It's the same concept as buying non CEA-2006 rated amps, yeah they're rated for an insane amount of power, but you'll rarely get that. It's the same thing with your situation. The moments where you will get the max power is rare. You usually have to have the head on the extreme end of the high volume area. That's usually how I've blown subs... Alpine all the way to 35 playing rap music.

Anyways, when you bridge, it all depends on how you bridge them. Parallel drops the impendance down to 2 so you have to add both speakers' RMS to see how many watts the speaker will need and then see if the amp can handle it. IF you wire them in series, you'll get 8 ohms and you add the watts on the speakers to see your total watts needed BUT you have to divide the 4ohm rating of the amp in half since 8 ohms is more resistance. That's how you figure out how many watts the speaker gets (considering that most amps are already rated for 2 ohm, you don't need to do anything to find that value.)

I can get all three for a very good price just not sure which ones better. I currently run the Soundstreams but I don't have the crossovers so I will be going with new 3-ways when I get the new amp.

I haven't used the soundstreams or polks but the kappas have a great quality sound.

If you can get $85 Kappas, go for it! My friend bought Sony Xplods 6x9's for his car about 2 years ago for $80. I have them now in my Camaro (I got em as a gift), but I personally wouldn't have bought em.

Yeah I' am gonna run them on max power so looking for some 3 way 6x9s that will run 100-150 RMS and 300-350 peak. I have the 2 way bi-amped Soundstream's but if I add a new amp to replace the old stock one I'll need 6x9s as I dumped the cross-overs to install em in the Alero. Not sure if the Kappas are going to fit though Crutchfield says nay but I' am going to Frys this weekend and they have some there. I'll ask about fit and if they do I will buy them online on Ebay :<)...Pretty much down to Polks or Infinities. Both are running around $80.

Ok so Time to buy but I' am confused lol which is better the kappa 693.9I
or the Kappa 693.11I. I can get the .9's for around $100 the 11's are about $144. I'am gonna push them with the Punch. I can get the punch for around $138.

The .9's are 4 ohm while the .11 are 2 ohm. I think the 9 stands for 2009 model and 11 for 2011.

Both are rated for the same power at all ohm levels. The main difference is in size, the PBR300x2 is probably one of the smallest amps available and can be used on motorcycles. If size matters, go with this one.
