ok here is how you do it and trust me we jack with it too.
1. try to start the engine. let the key go back to run. let it set for 11min.
2. turn the key off for 5 sec.
3. turn the key back to the run postion and let set for 11min.
4. turn key off.
5 turn key back to run let set for 11min.
6. turn key to off for 5 sec.
7. now it should start.
any problems send me an e-mail as i can no longer check the site until i get home from work
hope this helps

i went through the sequence once and mine started.
you need to leave the key in the off position for 30+ seconds, not just 5....

yes, try again, disconnect the battery for 30 min.
insert key, attempt to start, car cranks but plugs dont fire.
do not turn the car off, return to ACC and let sit for no less than 11 minutes, this is important.
after eleven minutes, turn key to off, and leave for no less than 30 seconds.
attempt to start car, if plugs arent firing stiil, repeat these steps exactly (well not the battery part).
it may take up to 3 cycles. it only took one for me with the ASE.

disconnect battery for 30 minutes then hook it back up right?? battery has to be hooked up while doing the test.......
1. Attempt to start the car by turning the key to the Start/Run Position.
2. Observe that the vehicle fails to start and that the security light is illuminated.
3. Release key to the 'ON/Accessory' Position. (DO NOT turn key to the 'off' position.)
4. Allow the vehicle to sit with the key in the 'ON/Accessory' Position for no less than 11 minutes.
5. Turn key to off position and allow the vehicle to remain in the 'OFF' position for no less than 30 seconds.
6. Repeat #1 - #5 for 3 cycles.
7. On 4th attempt, car should start.
those are the instructions from pfyc.......

well if you disconnect it for 30 min, wouldnt you reconnect it afterwards? i mean, cause then it would be disconnected for more than 30 mins... that's just common sense, but i HAVE met people who COULD screw that up, so maybe i should have thrown that in there
oh, and in my case, the security light never illuminated, well it did when i turned the key on, along with most the other dummy lights. but there was never a time when just the security light was on....
oh, and on step #3, ON/ACC is two different positions.... they need to make up their mind. i think i left it on ACC.

no.
these values in the pcm are probably stored on a flash type "read only" memory, and it takes some tinkering to actually be able to flash them... otherwise your stock settings would wipe with no battery as well, and then you wouldnt have a pcm.
