When I do my burnouts I always use the E-Brake and my car still drags a lil' but I'm pretty sure both fronts are spinning (I can do doughnuts too). When I get off the E-Brake though it's like it's kind of stuck with the E-Brake on. I know it's still slightly engaged because I lose speed REALLY fast... which can't be good for the brake. What should I do about this if anything? Also, what else can I do to improve my burnouts?
Please don't post saying stuff like "Burnouts are bad for your car, don't do them"...
Thanks for the help guys

Since you are dragging the ass end of your car while doing burnouts, you are probably over heating your E-brake, thus making it seize up. Happened to my Safari van when my dad drove it and didn't know i had the E-brake on.
When I burnout at the drag strip in the water box, I redline so fast in 1st gear (I have 5-speed) that by the time I am in 2nd gear, my ass end is dragging too. I usually time it to release the e-brake right when this starts to happen. I see auto Grand ams and aleros do killer burnouts, I guess I just haven't mastered it with my Manual yet. (plus, you don't really need to do a burnout with street tires at the track anyway)

Your Dragging becuase you have to much grip it is as simple as that. How new are your tires and do they have very sticky aggressive tread? Also if you plan on doing a burnout say at the drag strip or where ever use the water box or put some water under your tires to help break them loose. My sugeestion about your e-brake is when the alarm for the e-brake being on, let it off it is never good to drag your rear tires.

Try parking the rear tires over a curb or a high speed bump.
Check out the Cavy burnout thread. That guy used bleach

Bleach is an old-school trick. It makes HELLA smoke with less wear on the tire. With-in reason, of course. ( It just starts smoking faster, is all....a long burnout STILL wears on the tire bad )

when i do burnouts i just take my traction control off, it works pretty nicely w/out usin the ebrake, but you don't get the true "burnout" its more of a moving burnout as opposed to just sitting there spinnin your tires

amen to that. Ive been riding around with a thumping back tire for a good while now. Not really worth locking the E-brake in my opinion, causes more trouble than the 10 seconds of joy you get out of it.

you serious dude? i'll show you how when i get back to clarksville.
i figured the ecotec had enough torque, but maybe not, try pulling the ebrake all the way up, holding the brake pedal, bring the rpms up to 2000, and as you release the brake, punch the gas.

Is your eco auto or standard? cus i have a 5spd and my car WILL NOT do a second gear burnout, the clutch isnt strong enff, and i dont have enuff power but in first it will do deacent burnouts...
I found that my ebrake bein a GM the cable streches and the wheels dont lock
Thus the car walks forward due to week ebrake

On a black top parking lot i can do some pretty descent burnouts (quite a bit of smoke) and i have fairly new tires on. Oh, thats without the back tires dragging to. Black top is just alot slicker, and when it's wet...i could do it all day long.

My buddys sisters car eco auto cava queer did burnouts with 18inch chrome on it so your car should be able to do one.
For an auto just pull the ebrake on and stomp the gas, and turn the wheel back and forth untill the tires break loose.
