My Alero sat for over 2 years. I Have Been driving it again for a year now.
I have notice that the road noise was quite bit louder then i remembered.
I read though some old post and found lots of talk about dielectric grease for refreshing door seals.
I spent some time the other night rubbing down the door seals with dielectric grease then let the dielectric grease sit over night and absorb into the door seals.
The next day test drive resulted in 75% improvement in over all road noise enter the cabin of the car.
with Getting good results I also did the trunk seal and got rid of even more noise.

my 2000 had road noise since it was new. The dealer said they didn't hear it every time I brought it in for warranty service. I even took a road trip with the dealer rep n he said he didn't hear it even though we couldn't hear each other talking. Amazing how deaf they can be under warranty.
So for the past 15 years its been leaking noise, air n water.. n we just slammed the doors harder to make the seal..... but the effer runs great.
My son has it now, he loves it.
Oh and the 10 minute security thing was another thing the dealer couldn't find anything wrong. Well that just gives us a bit of time to make phone calls before we go anywhere.
