I was just wondering what everyone thought would be a better idea, turbocharging the 2.2 ecotec, a GTP motor, or a 3.5 Intruige motor? I know there r many more options, but outta these three. And y.

well what are you looking for, the GTP probably wont fit with out some serious cash spent. the 3500SFI would probably put you in the upper to mid 15's. a turbo ecotech might produce more and would be alot cheaper

The Gtp would fit... cus some one put one in a cavy... so yea lol
as far as the cheepist and most practial option it would be to boost the ecotec

If some one put a northstar in a fiero... 3.8s/c should fit our alero B)

The 3800 SC is a wider engine and wouldnt fit without some pretty serious modifications. Then again, the 3.5 DOHC probably has different mounts than the 340 so it too would be a custom job. A well sorted turbo kit for the ECOTEC can easily make 300WHP (with forged internals) and would definately be cheaper than an engine swap...

Not contradicting, but also there was a northstar jammed into one of our cars, but I believe that it was actually a s-10 frame, with an alero shell, but nonetheless, an alero as far as outward appearance lol.

As for an ecotec boost - like final said, you could easily hit 280 on stock internals with maybe some fuel management, and intercooling. With weight reduction, and keeping your stock internals fairly "stock" you could be easily running 13 sec passes, and quite possibly even really low 13's with proper tuning, and drag radials.... though NONE OF THESE OPTIONS WILL BE EASY OR CHEAP

The V8 northstar engine was in a concept alero called the 442... it was an ugly looking Alero. That other alero on the S-10 frame had a chevy 350 SB..

There is a 3.5L supercharged engine too. Its very rare but I know that it has 250hp stock. Thats 10 more than the GTP 3.8 s/c engine.

If its only those options I would say the GTP motor cause I know that you can do quite a bit to those motors for a little price. They have a pulley that my freind put on for the supercharger and it makes very noticeable resultsw for only $80 ccanadian money. It added 25hp. If you put a cone filter on and a ram air hood you can get closer to 35hp out of that pulley.
