Seen the 'vert, never would have gotten it from the VIN, what the hell is the "zebra"? I've never heard of that one..
Besides the convertible, there was the
442 alero
California edition alero
OSV alero
the 1997 alero alpha concept if you want to count that
maybe others that I'm forgetting???--apparently this zebra one...

Its the SC3 Alero. it's the best one made and not because I own its older brother either. Barret Jackson (the people who took this photo) didnt call it by the right name..
Here's a bad picture of it... it needs to be from the side so you can see the tiger stripes and the Oldsmobile logo on the fender. ITS PIIIIIIYYYYYYYYIMP!!!
Dont forget about this POS the 1999 OLDSMOBILE ALERO FX RAZZI FROM GM COLLECTION
I know this may offend a lot of people on here but our "friends" at Razzi did nothing for the Alero's appearance. Ransom made it a $hit ton better. Since that car sold for a whopping $9k... with less than 5,000 miles on it fellow bidders, while only a few at this auction agreed with me.

What's so special about the Zebra one besides the paint? Anything?

You wouldn't have gotten the convertible from the VIN for starters because the 6th digit is a 1, which is for a 2d coupe. It should be a 3 for a convertible.

the alero 442
the idea of the 475hp 4.6 with 5-speed, true dual exhaust, 10g tach, and it sounded just awesome.

the convert wasn't actually a convert but a hardtop just chopped so if you were to actually look at the vin it does not state it's a convert.
