One of a kind UIM progress
So the GA is gone, but i still had my ported 3400 upper and ported 3500 lower still sitting in the box. So i took to the upper and sanded down the 3400 SFI. I took to it with: 80-120-320-400-600-1000-1500-2000 grit sandpaper, then hit it with aluminum polish. I brought it into work and put on a mask that i designed with the "3400 SFI". From that i sandblasted the UIM and painted it. This is how it sits now with the flat black primer. Next coat will be gloss black. Then i will peel the mask off and the 3400 SFI in polished letters will be left...flush with the surface The ported 3500 lim will also get gloss black. Both we be up for sale when completed.

The 3400 and 3500 have the same porting when you use the 3400 gasket for both.

Wow that's amazing work. I don't see why it couldn't look like this right out of the factory. It looks much more professional and presentable.

yeah, they are. at least powdercoat it instead of rattle canning it... it's going to peel off eventually or get otherwise ruined by any automotive chemical spillage (fuel, primarily)

Couldn't do powdercoating with the mask used. If you don't like the price then don't buy it. A lot of time and money was put into this project and you won't find another 3400 uim like this so my price is right in my mind.

I've had mine rattle canned since 2004 and not a single bit of peeling.
