Couple Questions
So, I've been having this issue with Belt Squeal.
Anytime It's a Moist or the day after a rainy day, My car Squeaks at idle. It drives me insane and makes me want to kill kittens. Anyone have any idea on what might be causing it?
Also, My car has been running really warm lately, but not according to the temp gauge. Mind you, when i open the hood, It's like a Wave of heat smacks me in the face.
P.S, Intake is ordered from e-Bay. K and N filter FTW? or can i get away with the crappy one for a little while?

Is the hood sealed all the way? Are the hood stops in the right postion? How old's the belt? Don't kill kittens becuase if it!!!!
Normally I would say a tensionor is bad or something but it sounds like the belt/pullies are getting wet and causing slipping.
Can you tell how hot the hoses are? The temp gauge measurse the coolant temp. See if a mech has a scanner that reads the PCM and tell you what the coolant temp is, mines hangs out around 186*
Where is the broken spring in the seat?, can you get it from the bottom?

i know exactly what youre talking about. and with the amt of rain weve been getting, ive also thought about killing kittens. it seems like its the belt for me, it looks kinda worn. im getting new set of pullies, and a new belt put on by the end of the week hopefully, so that should fix it. i would try changing the belt, especially if you dont know how old it is.

the fabric on the seats just has a few little loops that its held in by. if you look around you should easily be able to find them, and remove the seat covers.

So, With the belt squeal getting worse and worse.
Wouldn't you know... I'm losing Antifreeze.
Where should I look? Should I even bother? or would it bet better to let my Mech do it and replace the belts too.

the coolant reservoir... one of the hoses or connections or reservoir is leaking and spitting coolant on your belt!
clearly.

Hawt Ion.
I've gone through everything. and Can't find it.
Oil isn't white or discoloured in any way, still the beautiful colour of Penziol High mileage.
Came across something the other day when i picked up antifreeze. It was something in a bottle called "Stop Leak" I know the rule is no bottle fixes anything, but it seemed like it might work.
Another though... Dexcool mixed with the stuff thatyou can combine with "Any colour antifreeze" still Gels up right? There COULD be some dexcool still in the system somewhere from the previous owner. but I was told that it was Any make any Model in it.
how much would 1 pay for a tranny flush?

Car almost hit the red mark on the temp gauge today.
I was rotted.
Possible gelling of Coolant....
Someone mentioned the water pump demon.
At this note, just tossing it into a shop, not risking anything else.
Making the call tomorrow. i'll keep this updated.

This turned out to be the Thermostat housing. It was rusted right out. So it's been replaced, New Thermostat while he was in there. I didn't have a chance to tell him to get a lower temp one.
Back on the Air Filters, I've never gotten an answer.
They Say K&N Require Oiling regularly, but I've heard of the Oil Messing up components further down the Airways.
I've heard things about the AEM dryflow ones as well, I'm assuming there's no issues with Oil messing up sensors and whatnot.
Opinions!
Sorry for the late update, I found this thread and had more questions, So I don't wanna post a new thread.
