Gutting Cat

Alright so after reading id say about a doesnt or so sites and other bs the affects seem to vary but basicly what i want to ask is if i gut cat..while keeping the code for the rear O2 sensor or even after getting rid of it..will it cause the PCm to change the Air-fuel mixture and whatnot.

Do not gut your catalytic converter.
The power gain might be a measly 1 HP. Not worth the effort.
You will trigger the MIL, but it will not effect your fuel trims.

If you do this figure in having to use an O2 spacer on the rear O2 sensor. I would only do this if it were clogged and I did not want to buy a new one.

What are emission standards in York County?

PA has 3 different levels of emission testing, Green, Yellow, and Red

Green: visual check to see if emissions are there

Yellow: visual check and OBDII check to see if emissions are working correctly

Red: visual, physical, OBDII check which checks all sensors related to emissions to see if they are working or even there.

If you live in a Green county, whatever, live in a Yellow or Red, be ready to pay the $2500 fine if you get caught

Chester County is a red county. If you get busted, the fine will be more than what you could buy a used Alero for
