crazy project!!!!!
ok so i found another 3400 alero 57k miles. guy has the s/c kit on it already. ok might sound crazy but i kinda wanna test it out.
i wanna try to twin charge it! first i gotta think about how much boost can this thing hold. its running 6 psi right now. im going to get some prices on low comp pistons and such. taxes coming up soon and im getting a good chunk of change back some were along the lines of 10k like last year.
so has anyone tried this or have heard of it? cause i know you can buy it for the lsj engines. another thing trans wise will it hold with such power the alero i got is a 01. not to great trans wise as far as mechanical i can swap trannys but i dunno how to build one any imput would be great.

There is absolutley no way you can twin charge a 3400 Alero.. Its a pain the ass just to turbocharge them. Because of contraints, the battery has to be relocated to the trunk just to get a turbo in there. There isn't really any room for a supercharger to fit after you turbo a 3400.

yes but what about putting the turbo in the back and having a custom made turbo header meet twords the back? Anything is possiable is what im saying.
even if i cut throught the fire wall and wield in new metal to make it fit this willbe strictly track i dont need it on the street. if anything i can reshape the front end and make it longer. with some custom fenders and such. and yes i am talking about completely remodling the chasis to make it fit im pulling the engine this weekend swapping engines with mine and using my old engine in it. i wanna do something that no one has done b4 and apparently no one has.

you're talking big bucks.
A stock 3400 can handle 8 lbs of boost at the most, that's why people with stock engines only go to 6, just to be safe.
You're talking about a full engine rebuild, to handle big boost numbers, custom pipeing, programing, and at that point, chassie work.
Then, is the car street legal at that point? (Unless your building a track car)

well it will be a weekend warrior and i know i have plenty of time on the weekends for it and if i put like 3 to 400 bucks every week into it in a few years it'll get done. and like i said strictly track it'll be a trailer queen. i just wanna be the first to do so. my tax returns will be for the larger more costly items i dont plan on having my first start up a couple of years down the road my goal is low 12's if i do better than that im even happier. but low 12's out of a 4 door v6 sounds dame good to me!

Do you have much mechanical experience or are you learning as you go? Lots and lots of work....would def like to see it done.....how old are you? Also, whats gonna be the daily driver when the alero is off the road?

twin charging is generally a total waste of money. size your turbo right. don't let anyone tell you you need a supercharger down low to compensate for turbo lag.

I make 21 psi @ 2500 rpm. Even when it made full boost at 4500 rpm, it still felt way quicker than the supercharger from idle and above.
Extra weight and heat for no reason with a supercharger clogging up the airflow from the turbo. Every twincharge project I've seen so far on JBO or CobaltSS has done nothing that you can't do easier, cheaper, and more efficiently with a single turbocharger.
