Suspension upgrade review
So I put my new upgrades to test yesterday at an auto-x event and here are the results:
Newly added mods: Adjustable KYB AGX + Dropzone sprigns + Speedbuilt front sway bar.
Keep in mind that the upgrades went in the night before so the springs haven't settled yet and I haven't got an alignment yet.
Results: Went from finishing 40-55th in the previous events to finishing 28th. Beating rookies with modified cars like Lotus Elise, Mini cooper S, Honda S2000, Nissan Skyline, Porsche 911 etc.
Feel: The car feels a lot more under control. It's easier to get the end loose around the corners but the imbalance of front and end sway can be felt. The rear catches up too late. A lot more fun to drive and easier to learn from your mistakes as the car is giving me better feedback on what I'm doing wrong.
On the road: I have read good and bad things about the DZ springs and so far I'm loving it but keep in mind that they are not for people who are not pushing the car at the corners and definitely not for those who lower for the looks. The DZ is very stiff and you can feel the difference by just pushing down on the car.
The car is staying level now and I feel like a fool for moving my body to counter the roll as a habit.
Next step: Having the alignment done. Getting new tires... and hopefully finding the rear sway bars to finish the job.
