I'm impressed. I also like your battery terminals. I've been meaning to get ones like that (for my Escort). The coolant reservior looks like it's black. Is it painted, or something? Probably just the picture.
So is that harder than a LIM job?

it was a bit of a pita cuz i have large hands as well.
those terminals are bad ass i can get big ass cable wire in them as you can see, the reservior is planted black i think it looks better,
its about the same as a lim job, both a PITA

Still got more room doing the LIM on top of engine than between the frame & the engine & for the LIM job ill remove the hood that will give me more room to maneuver...
I did a timing chain job once & that was on my old Elantra 1996 1.8l DOHC was a bit of a bitch to do...
Anyhow if i ever do the timing chain on my alero ill make sure i got another car i can drive so i can take my time to do it...
I could always use my S10 truck but it needs repair because the way it is now i wouldn't trust it for every day driving although it is not so bad just have to do rear brakes , tune-up , oil change & got a short somewhere because of the digital dash barely light up & it needs a body work...
Not sure what i will do with the S10 may sale it to the junk yard?

Hey Jawa. Saw this thread for when you replaced your timing chain. Quick question, did you notice an o-ring somewhere around it? My 3.4 has a radiator leak and I thought it was the water pump based on where it is was leaking from and I could have sworn it was from the water pump when I ran my hand under it so jumped and changed it out. What a bummer it was when I filled up the rad and cranked it up only to find that the leak was still there and it comes out at a pretty good drip. Everything appears to be dry around the intake manifold so I'm not thinking its that and even if it was I was wondering if it would leak that much volume so fast? One guy told me awhile back that he had a radiator fluid leak in the same general area mine is coming from and it wound up being an o-ring GM put around the timing chain cover to keep radiator fluid out of that area. What a weird area to be routing the coooling system. Any hoo, do you recall seeing an o-ring or can you suggest anything else to check out. The drip is dripping off of the block between the crank pulley and a/c pulleys closer to the a/c pulley. Thanks for any insight. Thanks dude!

Thanks for the reply. I actually got it fixed awhile back. It was the gasket that goes around the timing chain/accessory mount housing. The gasket blew out right around where it goes around the timing chain.

How did you know it skipped a tooth? What happened when it did?
