So, I got this crazy idea in my head.... What do you all think about painting the tail pipes???? I got this blue engine paint, and I was going to see what it would look like on the tail pipes.... Judging on the bottle, it will still have a chrome look too it, only blue.... you think it will work??? or even look cool??

i think a chrome tail pipe would look better than a painted one in our case...although i have seen black painted pipes and they look pretty sweet. high gloss black paint.

I think it could look good, but it depends on the shade/tint of blue you've got.

It's kind of a darkish blue color.. about the same as my car's color... I was thinking about getting it professionally done, but the only place that does it around here wants to charge me $400 to do it... I don't think so. lol

Well, doing them the same color as your car will sort of make them dissapear don't you think? I mean that may be what you want and that's cool, but if you want them to stand out the way chrome pipes do, you'd have to use a complimentary color of blue. But then of course we're talking about buying new paint besides the labor costs since you already have the dark blue. I dunno, maybe your idea of buying cheap pipes and trying it out is good. If you do post up pics.

$400 to paint the tips?! f*** that! you can probably get them powder coated for under $100 total for both tips.

It's a high temp paint... I thought about that before I bought the paint. I actually found a guy that would do it for like $50..... he painted my friend's car and it looked awesome! so I think I might have him do it..... right now, I just need to find a tail pipe that I like....
