Car wont turn

The car wont even attempt to turn. I noticed some difficulty starting recently and the battery tested bad so I replaced it. So far I have noticed battery has plenty of juice cause everything shows up fine. So I have ruled out the alternator or the batt would be drained. Im figuring it is the starter but when I look in the book it mentions solonoid as well. Any inputs on this please?

Im seeing ignition switch is listed too as a possibility...

does it click? new batterys can go bad too, i just put one in a vehicle at work cause it just clicked even tho everything else lit up. new battery solved it. but it could also be a stuck or bad starter. have someone try to start the car while you tap on the started with a hammer it might break loose and go. solinoids are the most uncommon thing to go wrong, try the other things first.

nope no click. all i hear is the whirring of the fuel pump. i got a new starter and have started taking it off... only looks like theres a cover around the end of the starter where the mounting bolts are. anyone replaced one of these before cause id hate to be taking off stuff i dont need to be taking off. the car turns fine when its starting and the wheels are rolling.

oh just replaced battery two days ago cause of starting hesitation and the battery did test bad. however, i have all lights and electrical power so ruled out battery and alternator.

cover should have wingnuts or bolts holding it in place, all from there is disconnecting the powerline and the two bolts from the flywheel housing

the thing confusing me is its called a flywheel housing but the fly wheel is on the other side of the engine with the other pulleys right? They have a pic for the 2.2 but not the 3.4.

i see the bolts but cant seem to get to them with the socket because the cover wont allow it to get all the way on.

To get to the starter, you'll need to remove the splash panel under the front of the car (just behind the radiator). You will see the starter right next to your oil filter. You will need to remove the flywheel inspection cover (only two small bolts, I think) which will allow you to get at where the starter gear engages the flywheel (between the motor and transmission - the opposite side of where all the pulleys are). Disconnect the power wires and remove the two long bolts that bolt the starter to the engine block. Reverse the procedure to re-assemble.
