On the front of the block on the driver's side.

There is a unit above the oil filter, that is not it. It's the one next to it.

The unit, I believe goes right in without adapters. I t'ed mine with the stock unit and the aftermarket gauge sender

Does it matter on what brand of gauge because i have prosport gauges. so no matter what brand of sender it should work right?

it's just a threaded fitting, if it doesn't thread in, get an adapter that fits....

I replaced the stock one with an autometer one hooked stock wire and auto meter gauge to the same sender. the stock sender is a PITA to get off if I remember I needed a stupid size deep well socket to get it off in one piece. I hammered off the conector and used a reg socket and hoped I didnt need to reuse the stock sender.

I may be able to help you out there.

Probably on Monday I'm going back into mine. The header melted the wire to the sender and the gauge goes nuts
