Yep. NHRA is constantly tweaking their rules to counter the newer faster stock vehicles and some of the other changes that folks have been doing which straddled the gray areas of the rules previously.
It used to be that convertibles that ran under 14.00 seconds had to have a roll bar. But with so many high performance droptop cars coming out of the factory going quicker than this, topped with the owner's reluctance to hack into their valuable car to install a roll bar just so they could make 1 or 2 passes with the car, NHRA eventually dropped the minimum ET to under 13.50 for convertibles.
