Through Indianapolis Caravan
Well as ASS gets closer, i figured i would start a thread of those that would like to meet up and caravan the rest of the way to ASS this year. I live in castleton area, right next to the castleton square mall. It is where 69N begins after branching off of i465. But either way just trying to see who all would be interested in meeting up to caravan to the show.
I would imagine we would meet up around 3pm or 4pm depending on where we meet. I also only have a room for friday night, so I thought of even leaving early friday. But i know some plan on going on thursday already. So I would do either and just sleep in the car on thursday. BUT anyway, If we meet in castleton then I know it should take about 3 hr 31min as stated by google maps... It is a straight shot up 69 to get there anyhow. So just leave comments about what your plans are and if we can decide on a meet up point then I would be down for a caravan.

i can plan to be in castleton by 3 or 4 no problem. it's only about an hour and a half from me. and you won't have to sleep in your car, i'm sure someone will let you crash with them!

I will be leaving here (Alabama) on thursday the 18th, probably around the moning/ afternoon. Its a 12 hour drive from here according to mapquest. I will either get there in the late night early morning and sleep in the car, cause I have no hotel reservations. It would be cool as shit if we could get a carvan going into ASS.

The past 2 years I have left here around 7 am and arrived at the hotel around 3 pm so 8 hour drive. I would be willing to meet up somewhere around there in that time frame if all works out, that is about half way point for me.

who knows... I have a room reserved for friday night... The unfortunate thing about bunking up with others is that i am bringing 2 other people. So yea, probably too many unless you don't care. Im sure we wouldn't mind the floor for one night. But yea...

Ha NO... lol... no offense cherrington
About the meet up time, it could be earlier if you southern guys are coming through indy earlier than 3pm.. (considering you said you will be there at 3pm) But it all depends on who all wants to actually meet up.
So if you want to meet up and do a caravan then post when you think you could be in castleton/fishers area if that is the designated spot in mid indy. (castleton is the first exit on 69N when you merge from I-465n to 69N)
Also, bdyman, what time were you planning on leaving? And what truck stop (like exit number or any info) Could plan on meeting you there with the rest of the caravan depending on times....

I can meet anytime that works for everyone else. Previous years I got there early but will leave later if I can join in a caravan. That location sounds good to me, right on the way.

Ok well unfortunately that meet up at exit 15B Ripley st is quite a bit out of the way of those coming from the south or central indy cause it is basically in gary which is NW and we would be headed NE. So that may not work. But since you guys are going to meet there at 11am, then I would imagine that anyone coming from the south or in indy that isn't near the nw, then we could meet up at around 11am-11:30am at the castleton area. There is a hotel named Drury Lane Inn (i believe, i will double check tonight) right off of the 82nd ST exit (which is Exit 1 i believe) and we could all meet there. So if that ends up being the plan than we will wait until 11:30am to leave the hotel to go to the show, giving those that plan on being there at 11am a chance if they are running a little behind..
Tell me your thoughts....

you guys can leave whatever time you want. the reason why we leave early is so I can get to the hotel and get stuff all setup with the hotel and ASS packets.
If the rest of you and WI and IL guys want to meet somewhere else at a different time that is fine. I will still be leaving at my normal time but then all of the rest of you can roll in together.

ahh wasn't sure the situation thanks for explaining what was going on.
Since I work nights, it would almost be better to meet up at around 3pm or so instead of like 11am. So my vote would be to meet at around 3pm... It is exit 1 82nd St Castleton and the place to meet would be Drury Inn & Suites. We would leave around 3:30pm to head to ass. So if that sounds like a good plan or a bad plan tell me. thanks

Meeting at 3pm will work for me. That would have us arrive in Lansing around 7 which is still a good time. I work nights also so I took another day off to prepare to be awake during the day a little bit.

tnalero, you should take a minor detour and meet me over in bloomington to start our caravan. it's about 40 miles straight off of I65, then it's a straight shot up to indy. it would be fuuuuun
