Anchorage blows lol. Whats the point of living in alaska if your going to live in a Large City (by our standards anyways). I love soldotna/kenai peninsula. Grew up here. No where else I would rather be.

Lol exactly why it sucks. Its not a big city so theres nothing to do but its not a small town so theres too many damn people

Also, I dont think id ever want to live in Alaska, Im from Albany NY, and in the winters they throw down salt to melt the ice/snow and it eats up the cars. I dont have to worry about that here.

It will if you dont take care of it here. The car will be fine. But NEVER EVER EVER EVER put your 2000 dollar set of rims on during the winter. The corrode like hell (unless you insanley meticulous on the cleaning.)

I think its the amount of salt they put on the roads. Here its not so bad. Just a little sand and salt. Just gotta watch your rims. I personally have never had a problem.

I saw "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock and they go to Alaska.
Not a bad place, except for the always being light/dark.

Lol thats a myth by the way. Its the same here as it is anywhere else int he lower 48. Up north it gets like that but where people actually live (the peninsula, southeast alaska) it doesn't do that. Also that movie was shot in canada haha. But its a great place

yes. and I get internet by running an extension cord to canada. I also ride polar bears to school, my igloo is hot pink, and the reason I have an alero is to keep warm.

Welcome! I have family in Soldotna and was married on Caribou Island in Skilak Lake. Really do want to return to Alaska for a visit and do some 'tourist' stuff, while I lived there we could never afford to get off the road and see the real country. Make sure to see all you can and smoke some of them big fish!
