IF your like me your car will try to start, but it won't. Then you put the battery charger on it, and it starts, but then the gauges freakout lights start flashing everywhere, bombs are goin off in the background....... and so on.....
btw, i paid 300$ for a new alternator and batt installed (it is high cuz i had them put in a high output alternator and a stronger batt)

When your heat (or AC) only works on the high, or top 2, fan speed settings, then you need to replace your blower motor resistor. it has nothing to do with your alternator.

wrightie has a little shameless behaviour in the past
WD40 is not a lubricant, WD stands for water displacement so all you are really doing is takin the water out.

Go to autozone, they have some spray stuff specifically made for alternators and stuff to clean them. Its safe for the electronics.

ok, i went to autozone and picked up some silicone spray lubricant and sprayed it on the alt and thats all well and good but the squeak has seemingly moved around the serpentine belt and is now at the power steering pump. since i was at autozone i went back in and got some belt dressing for the hell of it. holy poop! its screaming now! WTF! when the belt dressing was applied to various parts of the belt the squealing would stop but then like 2 seconds later it starts up again. the guy at the store thinks the power steering is about go but i dont. i think a new belt will fix it, hopefully.im going to get a gatorback or whatever its called. im guessing that somehow during the removal of the belt when i installed the alt it got messed up. also, i was watching the tensioner and it seemed to move a lot when the car was running. is that normal? i have never really paid attention to it before.

I know that this is a little off topic but I like jackal2000 alternator, now do I have to buy one of the high output alternator or can I take mine off and then the casing around it and paint it? Looked in the search and found nothing.

so i have the belt off right now and i spun the alt pulley and it squeaks a bit and i moved the power steering pulley back and forth and it kind of clicks...is that normal?

oh and i dont have all the tools needed to totally replace the belt so that will have to wait.
