Over the winter I turned on my rear deforster to get rid of snow and all of a sudden I could smell burning, like electrical. I didn't think much about it until I went to use my defrost again and it wouldn't work. I was told it was a coil and I was also told it is the relay. Any ideas? Will I have to have the whole back glass replaced? Is it cheap? Expensive?
Help me out ladies and gents. Thanks

Mine isn't working, either. I do have the part to fix it, just haven't put it in yet. It's the rear defroster/antenna booster module that's on the passenger C-pillar. Dealer price is around $100.

Well what a lovely piece of poo we all drive, lol. My 2.4 alero's defrost worked with the windows tinted... the 3.4 on the other hand doesn't have tint. I think it just hates me.

It's just a poorly designed part. It fries easily.

The first time mine went out I just wiggled the wires going into that little box and it started working again.
