Dash Kit Combo

Does this sound like a money saving quality product to anyone else? I'm considering buying it and installing my Xplod headunit.

Way over priced.

Metra fit kits run $20 and the same for the wiring.

The antenna adapters should only be about $5-6 bucks.

American international kits are about half that price and are of the same or better quality than Metra kits.

It's about 2 years old, it was the jams when I bought it. The whole "direct iPod connection, video playback screen shindig". If you have a better quality/cheaper priced kit that includes the dash kit and wiring harness for the chimes, put a link up. I could really use it, and I'm sure many people could use it for future use.

I didnt notice that was a chimes kit.

But still, what brand?

There may not be big differences in the wiring kit but there are huge differences in the fit kits.

Back to my original question, does it look like a quality product to anyone else? I found it on the same sellers ad for a 2001-2004 Dash Kit for the Alero. It looks like the same kit and even if it isnt, I always have the availability to drive 5 minutes to wal-mart, and grab me a Scosche, which I have always used Thanks for the input, I'm mostly just curious of the wiring harness.

Looks fine to me. But are you sure you want the chimes. I can't stand the damn things, I didn't have them in the Alero, and I don't have them in my 08 Grand Prix now You could save about 30-40$ by not getting them too.

Schosche kits are crap. The plastic isnt good quality and its thin.

In that mindset you can get the Schosche charm module for $35...

So if your going to Wal mart it, then do it fully.

I HAVE a scoshe kit in my car and it doesn't fit right. I have had it for about a year now and have been meaning to update it, but you would have to know the whole story. I would suggest listening to Ryan from ohio, as I have bought from him before and can tell you that he stand behind WHATEVER he sells to the fullest! If you need any help just hit me up, we are only like an hour apart.

Well the whole point of the thread was not to say I'm going to Walmart to get a dash kit, I was simply asking does this look like a kit that is better than Walmart quality. And going scosche "all the way" doesn't really make sense, because I was trying to find something better. Not that I have a problem with Walmart, in fact, I've never had a problem with any kit I've bought from there. And I would prefer to keep the chimes if possible, I tend to forget the little things, and those little things drain whole batteries

Well then to answer your question, we cant tell.

The picture is to small. So we cant tell what quality the fit kit is.

I can tell you the Metra fit kits run about $20. The Metra Chime harness runs $60 and the antenna adapter about $5.

I can get these but I dont sell them as there is no money in them. If you were to buy some speakers, sub or amp then I could get them with the order- just dont sell them alone.

Alright, I appreciate the help. I think I'll test this kit, and let anyone else who wants a cheaper solution to install an aftermarket radio know how well it works

Actually that looks to be a good solution. Can't tell for sure about the plastic fit but the electronics appears to be better/more features than most. I too kinda miss the chimes and proper(GM) power settings. If you tell us it works well I'm willing to upgrade later...

I ordered it just a few hours ago, it should be here next week. I'll let you know how the dash kit fits, and if the wiring harness is all that it's cracked up to be on the website.

Sometimes its worth the extra coin for the good stuff instead of taking a gamble and getting burned.

Thanks. I went through and read all of the feedback in the last month, 75%- wrong part(consumer mistake), 25%-Slow shipping/Slow response. I only saw one or two that were bad quality product. Lets hope that in my 0.027% odds of getting any 3 of those negatives, doesn't happen. That doesn't tell me if it is a quality product, but I take perfect care of everything I own, so if it goes bad over time, we know it's a bad product. Thanks for the good luck.

I have this installed now, and it works like a charm. It turns out the dash kit is a custom brand, and it fits like a charm! The wiring harness, to no surprise for the low price, is a Scosche. That's totally fine with me, even if it is scosche, it's built to do what it is supposed to do, and it installed with ease and works perfectly fine! This product get my recommendation if you are looking for an affordable aftermarket radio installation kit.

Well the Schosche wiring kit is $35 @ Wal mart.

Thats $25 for the fit kit and antenna adapter.

I can get fit kits by American International for $15 and adapters for $2 (at a local store- suspect you could do the same too).
