New car -> new member
Hi all. Been lurking on and off since I got my Alero in April and figured I'd finally join. I've got a 2000 2.4| silver sedan with almost 150k on the body, luckily only paid $1000 at a Honda dealership right before it was gonna be shipped off to auction. Unfortunately, the engine all but died shortly after I bought it -- a valve lifter chipped and made a hell of a racket, plus it was poorly maintained -- so it now has a Grand Am engine with roughly 125k. This is my first car, so that project was accomplished mainly by my grandfather, but I'm learning to get my hands dirty.
No mods yet, although eventually I'd like to spruce up some minor rust spots and dings, and do dashboard and lighting mods inside, plus a stereo that won't eat my tapes. A couple pics attached from when I bought it in April; it really was a steal, even with the engine work, and I'm quite happy zipping around in "Isis."

2.4L straight-4, same as it had before. The Grand Am/Alero matchup comes in handy.

Clear those corners
Welcome to the site, I must say, and disappointed that nobody else has, that car looks pretty damn good for having 150,000 on the clock

We do seem to have it good, yeah.
As for clearing corners, I'd actually rather not...my car needs all the color it can get at the moment. Sorry guys.
