How I wired my amp and sub.

Hey. I'm new to this but anyway, Here's the way I wired my sub/amp to my car without drilling any holes, and using the stock radio. Enjoy. I might of made some mistakes in the vid(wrong choice of words) but enjoy anyway. :]

Oh, PLEASE comment if this is a fine way to wire it. The wire has a fuse right by the battery, and from what I can see, it does not pinch the wire when I close the doors. Please no negative comments. I just want to know if this is safe or not. Thank you

Haha, I actually put mine through the grommet. Like removed the tape and put it with all the rest of the wires.

I USED to do it like that on my cars.. eventually I realized it looked dumb though.

You won't burn your car to the ground though.

lol your kidding me with that right? few things come to my mind, i will try to be gentle.

first of all, that line looks like too small of a gauge line to run and the fuse(?) on your amp line looks too small for it. and WTF who really grounds something to the strut mount nut when the effing negative battery terminal is 3 inches away.

next, you should never run a line like that, if that line gets pinched by your hood or door hinge, you could start a fire and burn your car down. there is a rubber grommet under that fuse box that goes through the firewall and into the car near the brake pedal. your RCA(?) cable or whatever that is thats just going across your passenger floor should really be rerouted under the door sill trim pieces and then around to behind your dash and into your radio or whatever kind of setup you have. that like WILL get yanked out and you will end up shorting something out.

BTW wtf kind of ground wire is that....please tell me thats not a solid copper line LOL

heres some pictures to show you the location. (*dont mind the wires they have been properly cleaned up*)

This right here. The grommet comes out right above the brake pedal. I fit two runs of 2/0 through that hole, I believe FiAlero has said he stuffed four through? Should be plenty of room for your 12 gauge power wire.

Um. This is my first install so go easy on me -.-. The kit i got was a kit that came with the wire, a ground wire, and a antenna wire/signal wire. Here's more info and stuff it says on the pack: 2 Channel Compatible, Scosche AMP Wiring Kit. 270 Watt, 160 Watts RMS, Dual axial twisted audio cables to eliminate induced noice for better sound quality. Kit includes: 16.5 ft 12ga. power wire with ATC in-line fuse holder, 2.5 ft, 12ga. Ground wire, 16 ft audio cable, remote turn-on wire. Hope this helps. I will try to find this grommet and re-wire it. Where should i tuck the wires so they dont get pinched tho. Oh, also as for the ground, u say: "effing negative battery terminal is 3 inches away" Dude.. battery is in the front, ground in the back. Kinda confused. FYI Im not going to be ripping out carpet or anything

im talking about whatever the eff you have grounded to your strut mount nut under the hood, not the amp.

Wait a minute here... You dont even use a ring terminal?

Also if you notice at 350 WRMS you are over the limit on your wiring kits stated limit

Im sure thats OK though. However I would get the wire ran properly. It is easiest to poke the hole from under the dash and run the wire up. Pull some stuff out and run it like I did. No chance of it getting somewhere it shouldnt then...
