Vtech Programmer
So I took my car in the other day to have a exhaust put on. The guy looked at me and said I'd be better off getting a Vtech Programmer for my car and that the exhaust would only give me about 2hp compared to maybe 20 from a programmer. I've looked for these "Vtech programmers" and to no avail. All I come up with is freakin kids toys LOL! Any input guys n gals?

OR you could get something more legit called HP Tuners. Also you won't see a 20hp increase.. Maybe 10 to the crank? Whatever the increase is, you it's not that much and you won't really notice it.

Yeah I've heard of HP Tuners. Also I called them up in oakville, Ontario no support what so ever for basically all American cars lol. So whats the point of getting either of them? As far as a exhaust\programmer goes. Every tells me every upgrade i wanna do is pointless lol. So say I get a tuner and mod the PCM drop $500 on like 10hp? I mean I got a CAI, its breathing in doesn't it make sense to let it breath out(an exhaust)? Starting to sound pointless lol.

Lol yeah I agree with the thumbs down and surprisingly they don't sell any performance parts. However that still leaves me looking dumb. I'll throw on a exhaust system anyways and try the HP tuner. Hopefully I will see some sort of difference.

HPTuners is a tool. If you have no knowledge of how to use that tool, there will be 0% gain and 100% engine destruction.
Typical professional tuners can make an otherwise stock car gain 30-40HP by tuning alone.
Tuning is generally a SUPPORTING mod. When you change something drastic on your car (turbocharger, supercharger, nitrous, high compression, headwork, etc.), changing how much fuel goes in at certain times is important. Same with how much spark advance is being run.

I was going to pay someone else to tune it and I understand that. So you say HP tuners would give 20hp?

It's all dependent on how it's tuned and what fuel you're using, and how good the person tuning it is.
Typically shops have software and cables on-hand, you just pay them to use it on your car.

"could" give u 20hp. Could also give u a bruised ego if u do the wrong thing too. If u purchase hp tunner do ur research and a little at a time. Its one of those "results will may vary" deals.

As a German I can tell you that we don't no nutting aboot perfumans vehikulars
Na its true, if you really wanna tune or diagnose something - HP tuners.
Never worked with it, saw it once in action during ASS 11 - convinced.
EDIT:
Holy crap, thats even just a cell phone number as a company phone number

Eh I got a friend who does them for a living and also said he could tune my car. He said he'd do it all for $1500 but seems like 50 hp shot is about as much as he thinks I should put in it haha. He said I could spend less if I dont get the heating unit for it but he still recommends keepin the bottle at 97 degrees.
