Front Seat Question
I'm in need of a new driver front seat for my Alero. Grey cloth and it's electric. What's the difference between the 4-way and 6-way seat? I am asking because I am looking at salvage yards for a good used one.
Thanks

my guess is that a 4 way is forward and back, as well as recline forward and back. and that the six way raises and lowers the whole seat as well.

I thought only two options on the seats powered.
#1 up and down
#2 up, down, forward, backward, tilt forward, tilt backward or 6 way.

Guess mine is a 6 way being I have to lower the seat clean to the floor to fit in the car.

Can't afford $100 for a good used seat. What are everyone's thoughts on like a padded seat cover or putting foam under one? Seat is good but the foam in it is shot

Why not just go to the junkyard and buy just the foam and replace in your car?

I don't know if they will sell me just the foam or the seat itself for that matter. All I've seen is the seat, motor, and track together. Not sure I could replace the foam. I have no idea how to do interior work. I'm only good with mechanics

It's really easy. The actual leather (or cloth) should just be clipped on. Good thing about JY cars is you can learn there without worrying. Once you get the hang of it. Tackle your own car.
Ive got junkyards here that will sell any given part off a car. I could take a visor, a bolt, a nut, a brake pad, seat cover, side mirror glass (just the glass, not the whole mirror) and they will sell me it no questions asked.

It's gotta be nice having a place around that will allow that. Everyone I've known it's like pulling teeth. I'm trying to find one right now that has a fog light without a crack in the lense. My passenger side one is cracked and keeps blowing the bulb. I'm ready to just epoxy glue it shut

Might as well run aftermarket fogs
