Hello from Leipzig, Germany

Hello,

my name is René and I was born in the GDR
My car was born in Detroit and is 16 years old - his name is Alero

It's a 2000er GL with a V6 engine and it needs a few repairs. One thing I can fix one problem with the help of this board

So I hope for more ideas!

Best regards
René

PS: Sorry for my bad English - Google help me

Welcome Rene' to Aleromod! The other member is falloutboy (Julian)
What do you need help with?
Looks like a really nice and in good shape too!
A little heads up, you car was built in Lansing, Michigan

Your car has the Chevrolet bow tie and some one mentioned that your VIN will start 1G1

By rights 1G3.

Hello,

I know falloutboy from a German Alero site
Yes, my VIN start with 1G1 ... ok, so my Alero is born in Lansing

I bought the Alero exactly one month ago. I will remove the bow tie -> I want an Olds
It has no rust and brand new brakes. But I have to change the wheel hubs -> ABS Problem

With the help of this forum, I was able to fix a problem with the radio receiving. I could find the antenna modul. The cable from the rear window was not connected. Now I can change the radio.
I will change the EU headlights to the US headlights - it looks much better

You can visit my website to see the progress of the changes -> www.renegate98.de

Regards
René

We have a few other guys here too from Germany, René and I are not the only ones.

Btw, René how you wanna go through TÜV next year if you got US headlights? That quite obvious that these are not like every other car around.
But go ahead try it, if you do, post a pic of the light pattern in a Lichttestmaschine (die so ziemlich jede Werkstatt hat)

Ohh and a very cool decal on the side.
Very strange that green seems to be a very common Alero color here.

TÜV is no problem. I have a buddy and his buddy is TÜV examiner. He is happy if the lights work
I will make Pics ... if I don't forget it. I will make a knot in handkerchief

This decal on the side are cool? I wanted remove this, but if it cool ... now I am considering it.

How many Miles (or does it display KM) on the car?
Does it have the original LIM gasket?
