for some parts, yes... but for larger parts, looking at it in the long run... there's just too many problems that go along with them.

DAMMIT this project isn't easy! <_< *groan*... SOOO many ideas that needa be looked into and followed through, but just keep coming into one problem after another... although some progress is being made... not at the tempo I was hoping for... I need 6 months leave from the military, not 17 days... Oh well, there's my little vent... now where did that 2-6 run off to... *gone searching*

It was a little cold on the drive back last night... when we pulled in at 4 AM, the car was completely covered like this...
This is a two part pic though - just cleared the corners on the headlights too... still waiting for the Halo's though..

Well, came home for the weekend... *24 hours without anything to bug me*. I've got both the speedhut guages and Anderbra's Halo's to put in, so, I'll be pretty busy tomorrow. Hoping to get both done, and some pictures up here. First things first though, going to sleep before I tackle the guages.

Well, as an update to this thread *talk about bringing up the dead* here's what's going on...
1. The exhaust is being fabricated today. The pieces are cut and bent, and when I get rid of this hangover I will be welding it. It's 1/16" stainless steel triangle at the end, a cherry bomb "muffler" replacing the old straight through muffler... and still keeping the original resonator.
2. Interior's coming along. The car is completely gutted as I type... the central part where the arm rest was, well, that's all exposed, primed and painted red. The e-brake, well, I'm trying to get rid of the handle and replace it with an electric servo, if this doesn't work, then I'll use the handle, and put it in a black bag. Fire extinguisher was added as well. The interior will keep the dark gray colour to it, but the tan is being changed to black, along with red/chrome trim all through out the car. The floor will be replaced with dyna-mat, and shaped in fiber-glass.
3. The seats are still a question. I have two Sparco Fighter seats with one 6 pt. harness and one 4 pt. harness are sitting in my basement. Reason being, is I found a guy who races 1/4 mile dragsters. The one thing I learned is that his seats are replaced after each race. If they work, I'll pick up two for $500 bucks (that's 2 seats and 2 harnesses), and return the sparco's and get my $1500 back.
4. The fuel cap idea is on hold until I start working on the body.
5. The APC steering wheel I picked up is on hold until I can get the car driving again, and then I'll find the right adaptor, or fabricate one.
I should have pictures of the ongoing project up today... as I shake my fist at my digital camera...
Ej.

Okay, Pictures... first one is the car how it sits right now. The next are self explanitory, and the final one shows the sheet of 1/8" h.aluminum that I will be shaping into the exhaust "face" panel, and roughly where it will be mounted. More pics later.

Oh it's coming along... repainting the instruments again... but the whole console is going to be redone down the road... there's always something more to do... but the end isn't too far off...

-and that cig lighter, yeah... saw it, thought of the old bike, had to put it in.

Hmm, you really have some ambition over there EJ. Glad to know you are not jumping on the bandwagon. That you are actually looking to set your car aside from everyone else. The exhaust looks strange sticking out from the side like that. Probably cause i'm not use to it. When you post pictures, make sure you are in there as well, because if by any reason the car doesn't look good, least there will be a good looking guy in the pictures, the females can drool over.

^don't say that too often, it'll go straight to my head Thanks though.
As a quick update... doing the final-final touches on the shield over the exhaust... finish it tonight, pictures tomorrow...
