I finally just saw the Raceway Park schedule and the 2009 Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac Performance Day (formerly known as B-P-O) will not be until Sunday, October 25.
I'll remind folks closer to the date - maybe mid-summer.
They also screwed me by reducing our Points schedule down to only 10 days this year. We used to run 16 of them. Then 15... then 14... then 13.... then 12... For the past several years we've run 11 which seemed to be the bare minimum, especially after that one year recently wherein 5 of the 11 dates got rained out and we only raced 6.
Now they're dropping us to 10. At this rate it won't be long before they just assign us the NHRA minimum 3 races and conduct end-of-season tiebreakers via coin-flip during the Awards Banquet in the Tower.
So, with only 10 Sunday points, plus the 3 summer events (Night of Thrills, Spectacular, & Jet Car Nats), I'm going to run 9 other events (Street Wars, Import Survival Series, Sport Compact events, & Olds). Maybe I'll even check out some Saturday Mean Street racing and see how I like that.
